En 1978, Jack Webb, créateur de Dragnet et Adam-12 proposa à la TV la série "Projet U.F.O.". Cette série proposé la dramatisation de dossier déclassifié des enquêtes du projet "Blue Book). On ne peut pas vraiment parler de Science-fiction malgré la présence de nombreux modèles réduits de vaisseaux. En Europe cette série semble avoir totalement disparu de la TV (elle fut toutefois diffusée en Belgique sur la Télévision nationale)
